Workshop Details:

We are excited to announce our annual  2 DAY workshop called #ilovelight! This workshop will be loaded with info about the use of Off Camera Flash specifically for wedding photography as well as the business of photography.

So many workshops include a ton of vendors coming together to put on a huge styled shoot. While sometimes this is nice, often times it puts a pressure on the instructors to capture all of the details of the shoot for all of the vendors. As a result the instructors attention is split between shooting for vendors and teaching the paying attendees. We have decided that we want to give you all as much valuable information as we can. We don't want to have to balance teaching and shooting so we can focus solely on you.

While we will not be going over the top with a styled shoot, we will still have all of the essentials to guide you through shooting a typical LuRey wedding day.

Day 1

We will be covering the business of wedding photography as well as utilizing window light for the "getting ready" part of the day. Laura will go over exactly what she does from the moment she gets an inquiry through the delivery of the clients images. Additional material covered:

  • Email responses
  • Developing a workflow
  • Upselling
  • SEO optimization for your blog and website
  • What to include in you questionnaire

Day 2

Day 2 we will cover Off Camera Flash and how we use it all throughout the day. We will set up a real dance floor environment with DJ lights etc so you can nail your reception lighting for the dance floor. We will also show you how we shoot the cake, tables, toasts, etc all with lighting. And of course we will cover how to shoot the couple inside and outside with OCF.

What to expect to learn about OCF:

  • How Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO, Flash Power, and Flash to model distance work together when using Flash
  • Multiple light modifiers and when to use them. Including: Softbox, Umbrella, mag mod, etc
  • When to use speedlights vs strobes
  • Learn the basic lighting techniques such as Rembrandt, Butterfly, Loop, etc
